A relational dialogical approach has a strong emphasis on connectedness and support as the therapist attends to what emerges
in the "between".
The attention to
inclusion, being non judgemental and staying present allows for an honest and authentic relationship to develop with the client.
Gestalt includes experiential learning which moves
away from
mere talk therapy.
Through experiments clients are encouraged to try out new behaviours ,
first in the safety of
the therapeutic relationship and then where appropriate in the outside world.
This "Here & Now"
Phenomenological method involves the therapist keeping an open mind, having a
naive perception and a genuine curiosity that
supports a client in
raising their awareness and promoting
self discovery.
Working in this way promotes awareness and leads to insight and
change for the client.
Field Theory acknowledges that therapists never work with just an individual because human beings always exist within systems of relationships.
This provides the therapist with a holistic way of viewing the personal experience of the client in the context of their situation or field.
